With its graceful curves, unique styling and proud motorsport heritage, the Alfa Romeo 4C is without doubt one of the most significant supercars to be built in decades. Drawing inspiration from the manufacturer's 33 Stradale model built in 1967, it offers the perfect balance of elegant design and rear-wheel drive performance.
Sporting a brand new magnesium alloy and steel chassis, the car was designed by Alfa Romeo and produced at Maserati's factory in Modena. The 4C boasts a bold front profile complete with aerodynamic contours that sweep across the sides of the car, over the alloy wheels and optional Bi-LED headlight clusters, before meeting in a V to encompass the car's shield-shaped grille. Round tail lights sit prominently below air intakes for the intercooler within the car's muscular rear wings.
Inside the driver-focussed cabin are competition seats, a dashboard made from a thermoformed shell and a motorsport-inspired instrument panel. Fabric and leather upholstery options are available for the 4C, while aluminium pedals and heel guards add to the model's stylish, sporty appeal.
Driving this lightweight, mid-engine sports car is 1750cc turbocharged powertrain that's clearly visible through the vehicle's rear window. Owners also benefit from an ALFA TCT 6-speed, semi-automatic gearbox with dual dry clutch. At just under four metres in length and with an unladen weight of only 895kg, the engine's 240bhp is capable of propelling the 4C from 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds and achieving a top speed of 160mph. Keeping environmental impact firmly in mind, Alfa Romeo's designers have used state-of-the-art technology including multiple injection control and advanced anti-friction and energy loss reduction systems to improve efficiency and reduce emissions.
Safety features are built into the heart of the new Alfa Romeo 4C. The car comes with driver and passenger airbags fitted as standard, along with ABS, anti-slip regulation, cornering brake control to assist with tight turns and hill holder technology for easier and safer hill starts. Alfa Romeo's Electronic Stability Control with electronic Q2 is also present to help ensure full control on even the most demanding roads.
