Is your car ready for Winter? Cold weather and poor weather conditions mean breakdowns are more common and potentially more dangerous during the winter months. So it is particularly important that your car is prepared for whatever might be thrown at it.
A Free Winter Check at Thames provides you with the confidence to take on the elements. One of our trained technicians will carry out a comprehensive 23-point check, including all of the items below and more.
TYRES - We'll make sure the tread depth is adequate and check for damage that might impact on braking distance and road handling.
BATTERY- Due to cold temperatures battery failure is most common in winter. We will check your battery is in good health and ready to keep you moving this winter.
FLUIDS - We'll check the level of your antifreeze, engine oil, coolant, screen wash, power steering and brake fluid and top up to a maximum of 500ml.
WIPER BLADES - Short days and poor weather mean that visibility is even more important. We'll check the operation of your windscreen wipers and wash system.
LIGHTING - Your vehicle’s lights are critical for your own safety as well as other road users and faulty bulbs are illegal. We will check they're all in working order.
BRAKES - We'll check their operation, condition and make sure they're ready for the cold conditions.
Once your check has been completed our trained Service Advisor will discuss the report with you and provide help and guidance if any elements need attention.
