Apprentice Vehicle Technician

Thames Motor Group is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Apprentice Vehicle Technician to join our busy workshop team in Slough.

With over 50 years in the motor industry, Thames Motor Group is a family-run dealer group representing a range of leading automotive brands. You’ll work alongside our experienced technicians, learning the skills required to service, maintain, diagnose and repair modern vehicles.

The Role

As an Apprentice Vehicle Technician, you will receive practical, on-the-job training and gradually develop the skills needed to become a fully qualified technician.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting experienced technicians with vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs
• Learning how to carry out vehicle inspections and routine maintenance
• Developing diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Learning to use modern workshop equipment and diagnostic technology
• Carrying out work safely and in accordance with manufacturer procedures
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and attention to detail
• Keeping the workshop and your working area clean, organised and safe
• Completing the required training and coursework as part of your apprenticeship

As your knowledge and experience develop, you’ll be given greater responsibility and the opportunity to work more independently.

A basic understanding of vehicles or previous practical experience would be beneficial, but it is not essential.
